Unique flora and fauna of Kenya and Rwanda

On this trip, you will get to witness some of the best flora and fauna found in this wildlife paradise. With travels being made as easy as they can be by using a single VISA for these two countries, you will be on a stress free cross-border unique wildlife experience.

Day 1 – Arrival – Volcanoes Np (km 150, 3 hrs, mostly tarmac)

Day 2 – Arrival – Volcanoes Np (km 150, 3 hrs, mostly tarmac)
After breakfast, you will depart for city and its environs activities. Visit the Genocide Museum and later have lunch in town. Follow the road as it climbs to the base of the majestic volcanoes, with spectacular views across the five peaks. Continue toward Volcanoes NP. Overnight at either:

Day 3 – Mountain Gorillas
As the first light of dawn breaks through the curtain of mist clinging to the summits of Karisimbi, Bisoke, Sabyinyo, Gahinga and Muhabura, we make our way into the Parc National des Volcans. Tracking the gorillas through the unique vegetation can take several hours of challenging walking in wet and muddy conditions. To see a gorilla, the trek will have been worth the hardship. Day 4 - Kigali, Rwanda - Nairobi, Kenya (B, L)

Day 5 - Nairobi - Ol Pajeta Sanctuary ~ 2.5 hours of driving
This morning we drive to Ol Pajeta Sanctuary/ Sweetwaters Tented Camp. During our time here, besides visiting the rhino and chimpanzees orphanages, we will also have a chance to do a night game drive. Day 6 & 7 - SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE: ~ 2 hours
From Samburu, we drive further north to the arid wildlife rich and scenic area of Samburu Game Reserve. Lunch will be preceded by a short break before heading out for your afternoon game drive. For the next two days, you will be doing game drives both in the Samburu and Buffalo Springs Game Reserves. Meals and overnight at the Elephant Bedroom Tented Camp or equivalent. (2B, 2L, 2D).

Day 8 - 10 - Samburu – Masai Mara ~ 2 hours of flying
Our next destination will be the world famous Masai Mara. For the next three days, we will traverse this wildlife rich reserve covering as many parts as we would to sample some of the best wildlife and scenic lands.

The Maasai Mara National Reserve is world famous for its great herds of wild game. All animals found in Kenya among the “big five” are found here. For the next 3 days we will be doing morning and afternoon game drives. While here you can visit the Masai villages or take a balloon ride (extra cost). The three nights will be spent at Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp on the edge of the. On top of its elephants, lions, cheetahs and other wildlife, the Mara provides the opportunity for witnessing the Great Wildebeest Migration. Meals and overnight at Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp. NB: While in the Mara, you might consider taking the balloon ride. This is a one hour flight that ends with Champaign breakfast at the plains of the Masai Mara, the fill up pretty fast so early bookings advised. (Extra)

Day 11- 13 - Masai Mara-Amboseli ~ 2 hours of flight time
From Masai Mara, we fly to Amboseli National Park for two days of game drives. Amboseli National Park is most famous for its elephant herds and is located in the foothills of Africa’s highest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro, on the border with Tanzania. The Park covers 392 sq.km and is part of the 3,000 sq.km Amboseli ecosystem. Meals, accommodations and overnight at Tortilis Camp. http://tortilis.com/location/

Day 14 - Amboseli – Nairobi
After an early breakfast, depart for Mbitini Village to see the projects that are supported by Kinengo Initiative, http://www.wildernesszones.com/giving-back/kinengo-kenya-2. Kinengo Trust is education, health/ sanitation and empowerment focused organization. It is registered under the Non-Governmental Organizations Coordination Act as part of the larger efforts to provide alternative and tenable interventions for the plight of children, women and men in difficult circumstances. Some of these projects include village schools, a new well to provide sustainable, clean water and upgrades to the community run clinic. From the village we head back to Nairobi to connect your flights to your next destination.
